Exposure Lab LA is a private practice founded by Dr. Anushka Gokhale. Dr. Gokhale is a licensed clinical psychologist (#33499) in the state of California who has extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She provides evidence-based treatment for OCD and Anxiety Disorders in the Los Angeles area.
Dr. Gokhale received her B.A. in Psychology from George Washington University and her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from University of La Verne. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at Western Youth Services in Anaheim, CA. There, she provided evidence-based therapeutic services to treat a variety of mental health conditions in children and adolescents, engaged in multidisciplinary consultation, conducted psychodiagnostic evaluations, and received training in empirically based treatments. She completed her postdoctoral hours at Rogers Behavioral Health, Los Angeles, where she provided intensive treatment for OCD, anxiety disorders, and depression at both intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization levels of care.
Dr. Gokhale has trained in various treatment settings. She has provided outpatient treatment in community mental health programs, intensive OCD treatment in a university hospital setting, and intensive OCD treatment in a partial hospitalization program. She is interested in raising awareness about childhood anxiety and OCD and increasing the use of Exposure and Response Prevention among treatment providers. Clinically, Dr. Gokhale primarily utilizes behavioral treatment (Exposure and Response Prevention) as well as mindfulness-based therapies. When treating children and adolescents, Dr. Gokhale values collaboration and works with the client’s support network, including their families, schools, and medical professionals. She is passionate about serving children, adolescents, emerging adults, and adults struggling with OCD and anxiety and helping them embrace discomfort and uncertainty through effective, short-term treatment methods.

Research consistently demonstrates that evidence-based treatments are highly effective, as proven by extensive studies. These treatments are grounded in scientific principles and have a proven track record of success. Among the most thoroughly researched and well-established evidence-based approaches is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Exposure and Response Prevention is a type of CBT, and is the gold standard of treatment for OCD.
I provide all clients with a brief, complimentary phone call to determine if I may be able to help you and answer any questions you may have. I may request additional records and/or have discussions with current treatment providers in order to determine if I am the best fit for your therapeutic needs. After this, we may schedule an initial appointment. If your concerns would be better addressed by an alternative type of service, I am happy to provide referrals.
I am currently an out-of-network provider, which means that I am not contracted with any insurance panels. I provide weekly or monthly superbills, which you can then submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement benefits. Most insurance plans do provide the opportunity to apply for reimbursement for therapy services received from out-of-network providers. In instances of insurance reimbursement, I ask each individual to pay for services and accept reimbursement from the insurance.
Credit card payment is appreciated at the time of service. Clients are responsible for all fees.
Sessions may be scheduled as frequently as needed to best address your therapy goals. We can meet once weekly, or multiple times a week depending on symptom severity and schedule availability.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please let me know at least 24 hours in advance. If I don’t receive notice within that time frame, I will need to charge the full session fee.
I do not prescribe medication, as I am a psychologist. I am happy to provide referrals for psychiatrists to assist with medication management.
Please reach out to schedule a free consultation.
